Solvothermal Synthesis of Calcium Hydroxyapatite via Hydrolysis of Alpha-Tricalcium Phosphate in the Presence of Different Organic Additives

In this study, the effects of sodium lauryl sulfate and various amino acids (DL-aspartic acid, dodecanedioic suberic acid) on formation calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite via hydrolysis α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) were investigated; moreover, a combined effect these additives ethylene glycol as synthesis medium was also estimated. The reaction performed in solutions containing different concentrations aqueous mixed aqueous–organic media under solvothermal conditions. It demonstrated that nature concentration organic influence phase purity morphology final product. Higher acid induced impurities addition to hydroxyapatite, while aspartic did not affect purity. samples varied from plate- rod-like depending specific additive.
